Volunteers are at the heart of Charity Retail.
We want to help make that heart beat faster.
We believe that charities can gain more from their volunteers, that volunteers can gain more from their charities with the result that society as a whole will benefit.
To make that happen we are bringing together a forum of diverse people in the Charity Retail sector, and specialists in design thinking and agile development to act as catalysts.
Between us, we intend to create an environment of collaboration, creativity and design that will enable new those working with us to transform the effectiveness of their volunteers.
With the pace of change in Charity Retail continuing to accelerate, there is a clear need to find a way to adapt and innovate at a similar pace.
We will be using a proven approach that combines the disciplines of design thinking and “agile” development. It enables us to think creatively around the needs and motivations of the volunteer, and quickly develop approaches that capitalize on what we find.
The steering group will be a small diverse team (not more than 12) of senior charity retail professionals supported by specialists in design thinking, coaching and agile development.
The project will be run on a transparent not for profit basis.
